Hello Reader,

None of Your Suffering Has Been in Vain

I don't know where you are on your journey through life but I know you've suffered. And I know that in some parts of your life you probably still continue to suffer. What I have learned is that we can transmute this suffering into something true and wise and beautiful when we reconnect ourselves to our Selves (with a capital S!) And when we start to weave all these disparate pieces together into the unique offering we are here to make on the planet at this time it feels wondrous and gratifying and like the biggest gift anyone could ever give you.

It may seem like nothing makes sense at times but you are a sensemaker. And you could only develop the skills of a sensemaker by having the repeated experience of nothing making sense.

Awakening Lawyers, my tribe, have all suffered a lot. You've had this deep sense of unease around the way the world works and been called to the law sensing you could make a difference. But all those ideals got drummed out of you as you struggled to squeeze yourself into the confines of the legal profession. It is not a profession that allows space for people to heal their wounds, their trauma and their suffering. It's a profession that encourages you to button all that up or shove it down with another double shot of caffeine in the morning, or a glass of chardonnay at night and keep fighting the world.

On one hand, you're sitting with a legal career that doesn't light you up or make your soul sing.

On the other hand, you're on a spiritual journey that is allowing you access to a deeper part of yourself that you've been yearning for.

And this deeper part of you KNOWS that it doesn't make sense to have a legal system that is completely devoid of spiritual principles.

How do you bring these worlds together?

That's the work this business Awakening Lawyers does.

We help you make sense of this division within you. So that you can come home to yourself and start aligning these fragmented pieces.

You are here to build a new legal system and it doesn't matter if the how of this is a complete mystery to you. We're not meant to see the whole picture upfront.

You will start to see how your Life PHD has been preparing you. No experience is wasted. It was the perfect curriculum for what you are here to do.

The abusive marriage? Yes, that was necessary if that's what you had to live through.

Your alcoholism (like mine!). Yes, that was necessary if it's what you had to live through.

Your parent's divorce? Yes, that was necessary if it's what you had to live through.

Sexual abuse or assault? Yes, that was necessary if it's what you had to live through

Being fired? Yes, that was necessary if it's what you had to live through

Does this feel true at any level of your being if your ego is resisting this new knowledge?

The words of Glennon Doyle from her book Untamed that I read out loud at the women law student leadership conference I ran in 2020 are coming to mind: "I can feel everything and survive. I can use pain to become."

I can see why I've had to live through many painful experiences now and I've used that pain to become who I am now. When I am coaching clients and they start to tell me about their issues which are of course the issues I have struggled with, which is why the Universe sent them my way, I get to transmute my pain into gifts for others. The addiction, the alcoholism, the difficult relationship with my mother, the miscarriages, integrating the different parts of me, dealing with the toxicity of the legal profession, wanting to make a difference, the 25 year agonizing search to figure out my career, the billion hours of job searches on Linked In...that's a scattering of issues my clients present to me. Sometimes as they describe their situation it is so like something I lived through I can only shake my head in amazement.

Your suffering has not been in vain.

If you want to start weaving the disparate pieces of your life together into the unique offering you are here to make in the law at this unique time in history, you're not alone.

There are lots of us from all around the world, US, Canada, South America, Europe, Australia, and Africa.

And we are doing this work together.

I'm hard at work getting all the Awakening Lawyers programmes onto Kajabi, a website and online course platform so that everything will be in one place and automated! I thought I'd be a bit further along by now but as I sat down to sort through all the trainings I have recorded my laptop crashed and it had to go to hospital. Then the external hard drive with all the videos on it (not backed up) broke and is currently at a data recovery company. They said today they can recover my data! So there have been obstacles - but I coach myself through them, trying to maintain inner peace.

Trusting that in Divine Timing you will be able to purchase these programmes I have made for you, weaving together a million strands from my journey, with love, to support awakening lawyers:

Lawyering from the Seat of the Soul

Create a Life You Love in the Law

The Legal Lightworkers Academy

The Awakening Lawyers Student Mentorship Programme

30 Days to Uplevel Your Life in the Law

Drop me a note if any of this resonates. I LOVE hearing from you.

As the external world gets more and more challenging and chaotic and divided, trust me (and the 100's of Spiritual Teachers and Spiritual Beings supporting our planet) that it is because there is so much LIGHT pouring in that it is exposing the darkness. There is as Divine Plan that most of us can't see yet. Go within, meditate OFTEN and spend time in nature. Increasingly I am getting signs I'm supposed to "ministering" on these spiritual subjects so expect to see a lot more spiritual teaching coming your way (not in this newsletter - I'm starting a podcast!)

Much love

xxx

*I have been hauled over the coals for using the word “tribe” by the more determinedly woke amongst us. It is seen by some as a word uniquely describing indigenous groups. I have carefully considered these arguments, did some reading and looked also at the modern usage of the word made famous by people such as Seth Godin whose book “Tribes” sold millions of copies and I am confident that the word does not confer prejudice in any way that would warrant its removal as a term to describe a group of people with whom one shares a significant cultural affiliation.

Hello Reader, "They" are not the enemy The world has become even more chaotic since my last email to you. We're now all wondering if we're about to see World War III. If you do not have a spiritual practice right now, I'll be honest, I don't know how you are managing. Because what is transpiring on this planet can only be understood from a spiritual perspective. From our human perspective it's just chaos, traumatic and terrifying. From a spiritual perspective, we can be helped to see that the...

Hello Reader, In the Sea of Uncertainty Today 22 02 2022 is a special day - a day of MASSIVE shifts according to the astrologers and the mystics and the seers. I don't know. So far it's been pretty much like many days in my current life: I've exercised, meditated, drunk too much coffee and been sitting at my laptop in my beautiful office/ temple/ yoga studio doing too many tasks at once, and trying to get it all done before my kid comes home waves to everyone on Zoom and starts bouncing...
